Magnex Technologies is a Brazilian technology company, specialized in solutions using magnetic fluid activation technology, which proposes to modify the rheology of transported liquids as well as to reduce agglomerations and scale generated in pipes and equipment existing in boilers, heat exchangers, concrete plants, oil and gas extraction pipes, etc.

Research involving magnetic activation of fluids began in 1985, in the Laboratories of the School of Engineering of the UFMG - Federal University of Minas Gerais, by then professors Abdias Magalhães Gomes and Physicist Welerson Romaniello de Freitas.

 

In 1988, Prof. Welerson Romaniello founded the company Hidrium Ltda., focused on offering the market physical systems for fluid treatment and conditioning, involving the stages of design, manufacturing, assembly and maintenance, thus materializing the first magnetic activators, focused on preventing and dissolving scale in various equipment such as boilers, heat exchangers and cooling circuits.

 

Several projects were successfully implemented, demonstrating the effects of magnetic fluid conditioning acting directly on dissolved salts and causing changes in crystal morphology, solubility, crystallinity, precipitation rate, and particle sizes. Among the projects, we highlight: boilers at VALE and EMBARÉ; gas washing systems at MANESMANN; blast furnace cooling circuits at ACESITA.

 

In 2020, professors Abdias Magalhães and Welerson Romaniello worked together again in an Innovation and R&D call launched by Construtora Andrade Gutierrez S/A, within the Acceleration Program in CONSTRUTEC referenced as VETOR AG, and there they validated the magnetic activation technology of kneading water for concrete and mortar, through the design, manufacturing, assembly, operation and maintenance of magnetic activators in the concrete plant of Belo Monte dam, located in Altamira/PA.

 

The extraordinary result obtained with the application of the magnetic activators with the reduction of cement consumption, additives and additions in the concretes manufactured in Belo Monte led to a joint patent application, focusing on customized magnetic activators designed specifically to be used in concrete and mortar production lines.

 

Thus, from the experience accumulated in almost 30 years in the study and manufacture of magnetic activators, Magnetic Water Ltd. was founded in 2020, with the objective of designing, manufacturing and marketing magnetic fluid activators to meet the demands of industry, especially steelmaking, mining, food, oil and gas, civil construction, among others.

 

In 2022, as a result of branding repositioning, the company changed its name to Magnex Technologies Ltda.
